The Dynatrac Hard Core Plus Axle Set Will Save You Up to $2,500

Most people tell us that they know that the Dynatrac ProRock® axles – and XD60 axles specifically – are the ultimate in strength and durability. There’s no arguing that the patented ground clearance means that our axles give you the best ground clearance. Period. But most people believe that a Dynatrac Hard Core Plus Axle Set™ for the Jeep Wrangler JK, Jeep Wrangler JL and Jeep Gladiator JT is much more expensive than other 60-class crate axle offerings. The reality is that our Hard Core Plus Axle Set may actually save you $2,500 compared to the competitors’. In fact, even if you pay more to upgrade to “the other guys” axles, you still won’t get many of the exclusive features and benefits you’ll find in Dynatrac ProRock XD60® axles.

For example, our Hard Core Plus Axle Set comes with our competition-series upper rebuildable HD Balljoints™ with our exclusive oversize chromoly stem and stainless bearings. That’s a $795 value that no other axle manufacturer can offer. And you can’t upgrade any other axles to accept our massive, extreme-duty ball joints.

Another standout feature can be found with our exclusive Dynatrac 1550LT® steering knuckle and wheel end assembly. These high-steer knuckles, with full-floating, high-alloy spindles and hubs, are engineered to decrease scrub radius, which not only drastically reduces the stress on steering components turning bigger tires, but also equates to an effortless and predictable on- and off-road driving experience. This feature is available only on Dynatrac ProRock XD60 axles.

Dynatrac XD60 Wheel End Our 1550LT® steering knuckle is engineered to decrease stress on your steering with the best scrub radius of any front axle for the Jeep Wrangler JK and JL and the new Jeep Gladiator JT. This not only reduces the likelihood of a steering component failure, but also makes for an easier driving experience on-road and off.

Dynatrac XD60 tire scrub comparison One of the key advantages of Dynatrac 1550LT wheel ends is the dramatic decrease in steering effort and stress on the steering components like the drag link, tie rod and steering box sector shaft. Then there are our DynaLoc™ hubs, which are three times stronger than all other hubs on the market. They have a convenient 1/8 turn to engage and disengage. That’s a $650 value.

Another consideration is brakes. Not only does our Hard Core Plus Axle Set come with some of the best brakes in the industry, but we made sure that you won’t have to change the master cylinder or booster in order to get optimum braking. That’s a savings of up to $300 for parts alone, plus $150 for installation and at least another $100 to properly bleed the brakes on all new stability control equipped Jeeps with four-channel ABS pumps.

There are engineered advantages in the ProRock XD60 that no competitor can match at any price. There’s a nodular-iron center section designed from the ground up for the rigors of off-road use and big tires 40 inches in diameter. Using CAD/FEA and advanced engineering tools, Dynatrac designed the new center section for increased rigidity, improving critical gear tooth engagement during high stress for better durability. Our nodular-iron differential cover is held in place with industry-leading aircraft 7/16-inch fasteners, all engineered to provide ultimate strength and case stiffness.

The XD60 axles that come in the Hard Core Plus Axle Set have more ground clearance than the factory Dana 44 that came in the Jeep JK, JL and JT.

Since we’re the only axle manufacturer offering 4-inch rear and 3.75-inch front axle tubing, we’re able to deliver a stronger axle with considerably less weight.

Our 100 percent American-made axleshafts have you covered in the strength department, so the next critical area for on the trail is our U.S.-patented ground clearance. After all, why invest in an axle set that will have your differential hung up at every turn? Unlike “the other guys,” our XD60 provides more ground clearance than any Dana 60. As a matter of fact, our XD60 has more ground clearance than a Dana 44! This means not giving up the ground clearance you gained from adding big tires, just because you need a bigger axle.

Dynatrac ProRock XD60 Tie Rod Position Another advantage of the ProRock XD60 that comes in the Hard Core Plus Axle Set is the high position of the tie rod; there’s no need for a flip kit or high-steer kit, which can create problems with the factory Jeep JK, JL and JT steering system and many aftermarket suspension systems. Above, you can see the position of the tie rod for most Dana 60s, including our original ProRock 60. Below shows how the XD60 tie rod position is much less prone to rock damage, being 2.4 inches above the axle centerline.
