Collection: ProRock 60 Rear Axle (Full-Float)

Intended Use:

The ProRock 60 full-float rear is intended for serious off-roaders running 37″ to 40″ (and even up to ~42″) tires who want bulletproof reliability and are okay with the changes (8-lug wheels, etc.) that come with a full-float swap. It’s perfect for rock crawlers, heavy overland rigs, and even ultra4-style buggies that don’t quite need the full size of a Dana 80. If you’re frequently in situations that snap stock drivetrain parts – like tough rock trails (Rubicon, Johnson Valley), frequent use of lockers on high-traction surfaces, or expedition travel with an overloaded Jeep on rough terrain – a full-float 60 rear means one less thing to worry about. In Dynatrac’s lineup, once you exceed the safe limits of the 60 full-float (which might be around 40–42″ tires, or an exceedingly heavy Jeep), the next step is the ProRock 80. But for most builds up to the extreme end of the spectrum, the ProRock 60 full-float will handle it. It’s often paired with a ProRock 60 or XD60 front of matching width and lug pattern, making the vehicle effectively a 1-ton truck in terms of axles. Daily driving a full-float 60 is no issue – many 3/4-ton trucks have them from the factory – the only considerations are slight hum from aggressive tires and maybe a tad more unsprung weight than a semi-float (though Dynatrac’s design minimizes any excess). Many consider this axle for peace of mind: you can drive to Moab, wheel all week, and drive home without carrying spare shafts or worrying about the rear end at all. It’s also a popular choice for those who tow with their Jeep or do long distance off-road trips, due to the higher heat capacity and strength. In essence, the ProRock 60 full-float is aimed at the upper echelon of Jeep builds – competition-ready and adventure-ready – where the owner says “I never want to think about my axles failing, ever.”
