What We Build
All Dynatrac axle assemblies are built from the finest materials and components available, with quality-control checks at 115 points. Hardware is US-sourced Grade 8, with thread locker used on all housing fasteners. Gears are genuine Dana/Spicer or Precision Gear. Dynatrac axle tubes, housings and knuckles are machined to ultra-precise tolerances joined on a special 100-ton press, and heliarc welded for superior strength and longevity. All housings are deburred by hand, painted inside and out, given a smooth finish from housing to axle (for oil flow) and housing bores are fully blueprinted. When a customer sends us an axle to be modified, complete tubes are replaced, with no chop, sleeve or butt welding.

Q: Is there a warranty in case I have a problem?
Dynatrac provides a 12 month unlimited mileage written warranty on the entire axle assembly. If you can break it, we will fix it.
Q: What quality control procedures do you use?
Dynatrac uses a formal 115 point quality assured manufacturing process. It consists of a minimum of 115 items that are inspected as the axle is manufactured. Furthermore each of the 115 items are inspected by at least 2, if not 3, Dynatrac team members.
Q: Do you use surplus or used parts?
Dynatrac was the first and is still the only after market company that builds complete assemblies made from all new materials and components.
Q: What size axle shafts do you recommend?
All Dynatrac 60 assemblies are equipped with new forged alloy steel 1.5 inch, 35 spline axle shafts, much larger than comparable Ford or GM corporate axles. The strength and resilient ductility of our shafts have proven to be unsurpassed by any other 30, 31, 33 or 35 spline shafts. We feel that the physical size of the shaft is the primary determining factor of its ultimate strength.
Q: How do lifting or other modifications to my truck affect wheel alignment and drive line angles?
All Dynatrac axles are custom built specifically for the customer's truck. We will set wheel alignment, including castor, camber and S.A.I. to the best possible position for correct handling. Pinion angles will be set at the optimum position to match your vehicle's drive line and performance needs. Dynatrac's accuracy for front housing geometry exceeds factory standards. If you do not know exactly what you need, we can make recommendations based on our considerable experience.
Q: Do you manufacture your own components?
Dynatrac manufactures its own specially designed housings, knuckles, spindles, housing ends, wheel hubs, brake mounting brackets, spring and suspension mounts, axle retainers, axle shafts and tube assemblies. This is why Dynatrac can offer such a wide variety of axle applications and well-engineered factory fit and function. All castings are 100% made in the U.S.A.
Q: What method do you use to construct your axles?
Dynatrac individually machines each component (housing, tubes, housing ends, etc.) for concentricity, alignment and precise fit. The individual parts are then press fit in a specialized 100-ton press that also measures the proper fit of the housing. Dynatrac's exclusive unitized housing is capable of fully supporting the vehicle before it is final welded. Since there is no sleeve or butt welding, Dynatrac axles permit unobstructed oil flow to the outer axle and wheel hub bearings. We do not hammer, heat, torch, beat, floor-jack, bang on the floor, twist or slip fit our housings.
Q: What brake packages do you offer?
Dynatrac recommends disc brake assemblies featuring vented rotors for superior heat dissipation. Dynatrac supports over 40 variations of disc and drum brake options in all popular wheel patterns and braking capacity requirements. Our brake assemblies use standard components, so service parts can be purchased anywhere.
Q: What wheel mounting patterns can your axles handle?
Dynatrac axles are available in all popular wheel patterns including, but not limited to: 5 on 4.5 (e.g. Jeep, Chrysler); 5 on 4.75 (GM); 5 on 5.0 (GM); 5 on 5.5 (e.g. Ford, Jeep), 5 on 6.5 (Landrover), 6 on 5.5 (e.g. GM, Toyota); 8 on 6.5 (e.g. Ford, GM, Chrysler), and 8 on 170 mm (Ford Super Duty).
Q: Do you have semi-floating and full-floating axles?
We offer both full- and semi-floating axles depending upon your particular need. We also support dual rear wheel configurations.
