Paul Oser II - Cincinnati, OH

My name is Paul Oser II, I am 33 years old and I own a pool table service and restoration company. My main vehicle is a 1999 Ford S.D. 4x4 diesel that I ordered in Nov of '98 and picked up a few months later. I depend heavily on this truck to move and service pool tables, when it is down we are down losing hundreds of dollars a day plus repair costs, which can be costly.

My main issue is the hub bearings, I have replaced them 4 or 5 times now in 7 years. What an aggravation and disappointment. This time is the last time I had to do something, I was NOT going to put those failure prone bearings on again. I had seen your ad in the 4x4 mags for years and drooled for years over them but could not afford them. Time is money so I had to make a decision, do I put the hub bearings on or try something else? So I made the decision to give your kit a try. So I asked my father for a loan for the kit, I hated to since he is in the union and they have been laid off for several months now, so money is tight to say the least. He agreed to pay for the kit so I could get back to work. What a great guy, my dad.

So I called Dynatrac direct, you all told me that you were on a 3 to 4 week backorder, Oh no! I could not wait that long since it was going on 2 weeks since my truck was broke down. You gave me a name and number to a distributer that sells your kit, KLM Performance . We called Kevin, got the kit ordered and waited, seems Fed Ex got the address wrong and the package was going to a neighbor down the street. What a bunch of bone heads! We had to go to their warehouse to pick the kit up. We got started right away. The kit was fairly easy to install, since I have had the front apart so many time before. The only trouble we had was the old u-joint clips, they were in there. Finally with the kit installed a test run was in order. Wow! I could tell right away the differance in the feel and smoothness, the driver side hub was froze on the axle so it was turning with the wheel, a plastic locking hub, what great design! With the new stuff on it feels like a different truck to me. I was seriously impressed. I love the Warn locking hubs. NICE! The only thing I miss is the push button 4-wheel drive, I use it every day, my driveway is gravel and goes strait up to my house so getting out to lock it in is something I have to get use to.

In closing, I hope we have gave you some good feed back and hope are chances of winning are good. Not for me or the sake of winning but for my dad, without him I would not be writing you today. Then I would of had to put those crappy hub bearings back on and that sucks. Thanks dad! You're the greatest and you all at Dynatrac, you're alright too. Keep coming out with great products. We tell everybody that has asked us where did you get those new hubs at. We say call DYNATRAC.

Well, it all started on me and some of my friend's trip to FL when we went off-roading some where off of 95 in FL. Then, when we actually got to where we were staying it was all going good then the second to last day we decided to go off-roading again, except this time I got stuck really bad.

After several trucks tried to pull me out with no success (and some of them getting stuck and I broke my 12,000 lb winch), things didn't seem like they could get any worse. But both front wheels were no longer spining and that's when I knew I had some major damage and now how would I ever get out with just rear wheel drive? So...I wound up having to spend the night there and one of the guys that was with one of his buddys that was trying to get me out. He said he could get me out the next day so when he came back he showed up with a $57,000 tracked Bobcat that weighted appx. 10,000 lbs!

It was still barely able to pull me out but eventually he did and boy was I relieved. So then I got my truck washed off as best I could then had to drive back to Richmond, VA. I was not sure if I was going to make it but somehow I did. The next day, I put my stock rims and tires back on and was going to drive it to the dealer. I had not even gone but 100' when the passenger's side front tire started to fall off and was only being held on by the caliper. That's when I had to get it towed and then the dealership denied my warrenty. I am still trying to fight them on that but they had some one from Chrysler come out to look at it and he said that it was not covered under warranty.

Now it looks like it will be costing me some more cash and they are saying that I need to replace the complete axle housing assembly, right steering knuckle, hub, axle shaft, caliper, rotor, wheel, and brake hose which will cost $2,732.33. Ouch! And this is just for one off-roading misshap.

Also my truck is a 2005 Dodge 2500 Power Wagon with a 4" lift running 37" tires.

I have a bit of a different story for you.

I was driving my 2003 Dodge 3500 5.9L CR 4x4 on the highway. I was cruisingat 120km/hr (75mph). Driving on nice dry pavement on the Trans Canadahighway. I started to feel a bit of a shudder in my truck, then it veryquickly became very serious vibration. Before I could even come to a stop onthe highway, the bearing assy. on the transfer case went. The transfer casepeeled open like a banana spilling gears and chains onto the highway. Thefront drive shaft banging on the floor boards. I ended up stuck in theshoulder of the left lane of a 4 lane divided highway.

The reason behind the failure, that damn U-joint on the front drive shaft failed, causing enoughvibration in the bearings of the T-case to fail. I really never liked the full-time locked hubs. All that spinning equipment that does not need to be.

I am now going to order a Free Spin kit for my 2005 Dodge 3500 5.9 4x4.Thankfully you guys make this kit. I buy the trucks for the kick ass motor and now finally, with a kit like this and KORE's unlimited suspension,it is starting to look I will have a tough truck.
