Well as luck comes out, I was bored out of my mind with
my GF working double shifts all weekend long Memorial
Day weekend. I thought that a few of my DTR Diesel
buddies would get together and hang out and what not. So, I was on my way in to the twin cities. As I was going
down I-494 I came up to a little hill. I was
getting ready to pass the slower cars. I get this
sudden loss of all power in the truck and white
smoke galore plus a major pull to the left. With not a clue of what
happened, I shut the power chip off, turned the hazards on and got
control of the truck. I pulled it over to the side of
the road and tried to figure out what happened. I grabbed
the tires and pulled on them. The I looked at the brakes and they
were all good. I didn’t see any thing. So, I decided to get off the freeway with the truck. I was a ½ mile from
where I was going so figured I risk it since my Dodge diesel
buddys would be there and they can help me figure it
out. Well the next thing I come rolling into the parking
lot and then the abs and brake light on the dash
start flashing and the there is white smoke coming out
from under the truck. I am like "Oh my. Oh my! This is
going to be fun as I am about 85 miles from home." Well, we talked about fixing it there with stock parts but
in the end I decided to hitch a ride home to get the
gf gas Dodge 2500 and a gooseneck trailer borrowed
from a friend. I have pictures of it all. A nice afternoon lunch turned into a 12-hour event. That
2500 could only tow my truck at 45 mph. It took 2
hours+ to get the truck home. Where it sits. Click here to keep you from being a contestant! |
